Well, it has been icy for the past week. Caring for the animals has been a challenge with all the water troughs frozen and having to carry heavy buckets of hot water to all the horses, goats, chickens and rabbits....while trying not to slip and fall on the slippery ice. This morning we awoke to about 5 inches of beautiful snow on top of the ice! It is beautiful but I feel sorry for the animals out in it!

My name is Krista. I have been a horse crazy person for my whole life and worked very hard to purchase my first horse at the age of 14. I haven't looked back since then and have had many different horses come through my life. I was born and raised in Brazil and opened the very first riding school in our town of 400,000 people. It was successful and I taught many kids how to ride, put on several barrel racing competitions for our students and trained and boarded horses. It was a lot of work but what I loved doing. Circumstances in life brought me to the USA and I am happy with my current herd of horses and students and enjoy teaching. I am a certified therapeutic riding instructor and have been teaching for over 9 years. It has been rewarding and insightful for me and I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of so many different people's lives.
